Adopt bylaws for the board
Fairly early on the board will need to adopt at least an interim set of bylaws for board meetings and actions. This document will indicate how the board functions, who the officers are on the board, the duties of the board and officers, and how to handle disputes or other issues. If the board is the old board from a single library then it might make sense to adopt the older bylaws with the necessary name changes. If not then board members may need to spend some time creating new bylaws.
