Databases and Discovery
The Montana State Library provides a set of statewide databases for all Montana citizens. This is made possible through an allocation from the Montana Legislature, as well as support from the Governor's budget office and the efforts of the State Librarian, the State Library Commission, and the Montana Library Association.
EBSCO is the provider of the statewide suite of 24 research databases for this contract period. Any Montana library that is listed in the Montana Library Directory has access to these online resources.
Due to budget reductions, access to the EBSCO statewide suite and Discover It expires August 31, 2016.

Additionally, all libraries in Montana have access to individualized EBSCO Discovery Service profiles. Discover It! is an integrated search tool designed to perform a comprehensive search of all of your library’s resources, from catalogs to databases to digital collections and more. You can select what resources you would like to include in this one-stop search.
EBSCO has records indexed for thousands of resources. Montana's EBSCO databases, the Montana Memory Project, the Montana Shared Catalog, WorldCat.org, MontanaLibrary2Go, HeritageQuest, and other public library catalogs (Butte-Silver Bow Public Library and Lewis and Clark Library) can all be searched in Discover It. If your library subscribes to a resource and you would like to include it in your Discover It search, please contact Cara.
Please contact Cara Orban for more information about the statewide databases and Discover It.
