The Library Development Division provides continuing education, consulting, programming, and consortial services to libraries across Montana.  The Division receives funding each year from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant program administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency. These monies enable the State Library to fund the services and staff of the Talking Book Library and Library Development.  The Network Advisory Council comprised of librarians from around the state advises the Library Development Division.
